The girls and I are headed to art/patisserie camp in Birmingham Yipee! I am launching a website soon that will have the menu of pastries I am baking with the girls and recipes to download.
Some of the fun pastries we will be making are:
Flower tartlets, lavender chocolate truffles, ice cream cake lollies, french macarons, lavender lemonade and eiffel tower sugar cookies.
Ten year old wishes for a birthday filled with friends and laughter.
I cannot believe my twin girls are 10 today. We celebrated at the pool and had lots and lots of CANDY!
Purple and Pink lollies, sour fruit wedges, icecream cake lollies, bubblegum cake, ring pops, candy buttons, jelly bellys were the finale' of the party.

This cake was so much fun to make:
You simply take your white cake batter and divide it up and use food coloring and bake seperately.
I use Betty Crocker's white cake and baked each portion on 350 for 15 minutes each. The buttercream is homemade because there is nothing better on this planet than real buttercream icing. Add sprinkles and gumballs for a candy buffet cake.

The boxes I used were from the container store. All of the candy was purchased at Big Top Candy in Austin on South Congress. Add a little ribbon and Wala!

Look what's baking in the oven for patisserie camp in Birmingham this summer!
I am starting to prepare the french macarons in several shades of pink for the camp. I haven't baked in a while so I was so excited to put on my favorite Anthropologie apron and get baking.
After the camp(June 27-29th) I will launch my new glittered nest website with all of the day to day menus and recipes to go with it! We will be baking meringue nests with fruit and whipped cream, Eiffel Tower Sugar Cookies and many other things.

This is a recipe I have blogged about before but loved it so much...wanted to share again! Enjoy.
I am embarrassed to say this is the first time I have ever made homemade cupcakes before! I have always made the frosting but used a box cake. I will never never never do that again after tasting these yummies! Of course it takes longer but you can double and freeze!
My kids love sprinkles...sprinkles on everything! Just roll the edges of the cupcake in a little bowl of sprinkles for this look.

Can you just see how light and fluffy this icing is. It is not as sweet as buttercream icing but creamy and delicious! To pipe the ruffle edge I used the small petal tip. I like the two tones of pink.
My daughter Abby made a picture of our family that we will use as our tags when we give our baking gifts to friends:
