Rain

Rain is so beautiful to watch

The sound of the thunder and flash of the lightning is exhilirating!

We watched the rain for an hour the other night...

The t.v. was off and not a sound around us but the storm.

 

 

Rain

I opened my eyes

And looked up to the rain,

And it dripped in my head

And flowed into my brain,

And all that I hear as I lie in my bed

Is the slishity slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly

I walk very slow,

I can't do a handstand-

I might overflow.

So pardon the wild and crazy thing I just said-

I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

I haven't thought about reading Shel's books until my daugher became interested in poetry. 

She carries around a little book and pen wherever we go and she jots down little poems.

Beautiful.

Just makes you think about EVERYTHING in a different light...not just for face value but with feeling.
