Friday I had some friends over for a holiday open house! Here are some pics and ideas to use for the holidays!
I put pumkin bisque soup I found at Cosco in shot glasses as an appetizer. I found the guests either really loved it or really didn't! (it is much better served warm)
Gifts for the Guests: Pumpkin Truffles in tiny take out boxes tied with string and rosemary. I found the cute little takeout boxes at Michaels. The colors of my party were green and robin's egg blue. I like to do something different than the traditional red and green. These colors are so wonderful to add lots of white and silver to.
These were so yummy: Libbys pumkin truffles.
Chocoalte Mousse served in votive cups. You really only need a little taste of this decadent and rich dessert. Recipe: Download Rich Chocolate Mousse
Edemame Hummus dip with toasted pitas(my kids actually like this too!)
Blue Buttercream cupcakes. I don't care how old you are...everyone loves a good cupcake. The key is the buttercream icing. I use crisco in mine but I have friends who prefer all butter. If you make them the day before like I did, I find the crisco doesn't harden like the butter.
I had so much fun setting the table...I put little glitter houses under a cloche jar in the top bowl. Obviousely you wouldn't eat off of this plate(just for decoration).
Easy and cheap way to add color to your table...cranberries in water in your flower vase..Voila!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thanks for a great girl's night!
Oh, I wish I could have been there. I miss you but happy you are back in Texas, close to home! Your party is beautiful and I always love your ideas.
